Ronaldo Given One-Month Ban and 255-Euro Fine

Portuguese FA bans Ronaldo for one month and fines him 255 euros after leaving national team camp early.

Ronaldo's Ban and Fine

The 41-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo has been given a one-month ban and a 255-euro fine by the Portuguese football association.

The Portuguese football association announced the ban on Monday.

The ban started on 30 September, so he has already served 19 days of the 30-day suspension.

In the Nations League match against Norway, which Portugal won 2-1, Ronaldo was benched for the entire game.

He left the camp after a dispute with coach Jorge Jesus about being benched for the match against Norway, saying his trust was broken.

He also apologized to fans and teammates for his hasty departure and admitted that his behavior deserved consequences.

Impact and Reaction

This means he is available to play for Portugal in the Nations League matches against Denmark on 14 November and Wales on 17 November.

The Portuguese football association president made these remarks at a stadium inauguration in Porto. He also apologized publicly to fans and teammates for his hasty departure.

"Everybody wants Cristiano back. The association, the coach, all teammates agree: everybody wants Cristiano back. I expect him already during the international break in November."

Pedro Proenca, President of the Portuguese Football Association
