“Bug Appetite” Returns to NEXT Hotel
Some dinners are about fine wine, others about conversation. This one is about grasshoppers and other insects. On October 25 at 7 p.m., the Cloud Bar at NEXT Hotel in Funchal will once again host Bug Appetite, now in its third edition - an evening that proudly asks diners to eat creatures most people usually try to keep out of their kitchen.
For €55 per person, guests will enjoy a welcome cocktail, drinks during dinner, and live entertainment, along with a menu featuring crickets, grasshoppers, and larvae.

The venue is known as Funchal’s most playful and tech-savvy hotel - a place where bold ideas find a stage. For this event, guests are asked to dress “Casual Chic”.
The organizers promise a “street food experience” like no other, featuring dishes with grasshoppers, crickets, and larvae in creative combinations. And really, where else would you pay €55 for the honor of eating larvae?
