Porto Santo Cencels Trips on Friday and Saturday
Porto Santo Line announced that the ferry trips planned forthis Friday and Saturday, December 12 & 13, will not operate. The Funchal – Porto Santo trip at 08:00 and the Porto Santo – Funchal return at 18:00 are both suspended due to unstable weather conditions. Porto Santo Line stressed that both cancellations — on 12 and 13 December — are precautionary steps. The company said that operating under such conditions could put travelers and crew at risk.
IPMA Issues Yellow, Orange And Red Warnings With Waves Up To 14 Meters
The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) placed Porto Santo under yellow, orange and red warnings for maritime agitation from Friday to Saturday. Forecasts indicate waves of 7 to 7.5 meters from the northwest, with maximum heights possibly reaching 14 meters. The rest of the archipelago is also under alerts for heavy seas, strong winds and periods of intense rain, creating a wider regional challenge.
