Weather Alert Remains in Place
The difficult weather conditions are expected to continue. ANA warned that flight arrivals and departures may still face problems until at least tomorrow. The Capitania do Porto do Funchal, the regional maritime authority, has extended a strong wind warning for coastal areas of the Madeira archipelago until 06:00 tomorrow.
The warning was issued based on data from the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA). These conditions are not unusual for the island, but this week’s events are proving especially disruptive.
