Cabo Girão Entry Fee Increases By 66% From January

After a 50% hike in entry fees this year, taking in the spectacular views from Cabo Girão’s busy skywalk is set to rise by another 66%.

Ticket Price Increases From €3 to €5 Per Person on January 1, 2026

The entrance fee at the Cabo Girão viewpoint, one of Madeira’s most popular tourist sites, will rise from €3 to €5 per person starting January 1, 2026. Children up to 12 years old and residents of the Madeira region will continue to have free access. The new tariff will apply only to visitors who are not residents.

Cabo Girão: Free Access Until 2023

In December 2022, the Regional Government of Madeira published Portaria n.º 946/2022, officially creating a paid entry system for the Cabo Girão viewpoint. Visiting the Cabo Girão was until then free for everyone.

January 1, 2023

The regulation came into legal force, setting the first entry fee at €2 per adult. The viewpoint remained open to the public, but visitors were not charged yet because the payment system was not ready.

March 6, 2023: €2 Cabo Girão Entry Fee in Place

Actual €2 fee collection began on-site at Cabo Girão.

Exemptions:
Children up to 12 years old - free entry.
Residents of Madeira - free entry.

2025 Update: €3 Cabo Girão Entry Fee, Up 50%

A later regulation, Portaria n.º 567/2024, raised the adult fee from €2 to €3, starting January 1, 2025.

2026 Update: €5 Cabo Girão Entry Fee, Up 66%

As announced, he fee will rise from €3 to €5 on January 1, 2026 - an increase of about 66.7%.
