In addition to passenger growth, the ferry service also reported a significant rise in cargo transport. Financial Recovery After a Difficult Start
Despite the strong summer results, Porto Santo Line is still recovering from a challenging first quarter. Severe storms in the Madeira region caused multiple travel cancellations earlier in the year. Santos stated, "We are balanced at the end of this third quarter, with positive prospects for the final months to see if we achieve a profitable year."
Local Passengers Dominate Travel
Around 80% of those traveling on the Lobo Marinho ferry are residents of Madeira. The consistent demand highlights the ferry’s role as a critical link for both commuters and tourists moving between the two islands.
