London's Heathrow Airport ranked second with a score of 8.79 out of 10, followed by Queenstown Airport in New Zealand with 8.64. The study also highlighted Rio de Janeiro's airport in Brazil, which holds the most-viewed landing video with an impressive 47 million views.
Study Methodology
Digital Loft compiled an initial list of airports from reputable sources such as CNN and Escape. They then gathered data on YouTube views and Google searches for each airport, calculating a final score to determine the ranking. Madeira Airport received an outstanding score of 9.55 out of 10, emphasizing the specialized training and certification required for pilots to master its complex landings.
