More than 3 Companies Are Created Every Day in Madeira
In 2023, Madeira observed a significant surge in company formations, reaching the highest number in the past 19 years. The balance between new company formations and dissolutions marked a noteworthy milestone, with 1,363 new companies surpassing the 650 dissolutions, resulting in a positive difference of 713, which is more than double the previous year. Compared to 2022, there were 46 more company formations and 171 fewer dissolutions in 2023.
Company Ratio Stands at 2.10 Creations vs. Dissolutions
The ratio of company formations to dissolutions in the region stood at 2.10, indicating a positive economic trend. Although this ratio was lower than the national average of 3.45, it represented a notable increase from the previous year's ratio of 1.60. Several economic sectors contributed to this positive balance, including 'Accommodation, catering and the like,' 'Real estate activities,' 'Construction,' 'Information and communication activities,' and 'Administrative activities and support services.'
