Madeira Wins World’s Best Island Destination for 10th Year in a Row

Madeira has once again outshined the competition, being named the World’s Best Island Destination at the 31st World Travel Awards for the 10th time in a row.

Madeira has been named World’s Leading Island Destination for the 10th consecutive year at the 31st World Travel Awards. The announcement was made on November 24, 2024, during a gala held at the Savoy Palace Hotel in Funchal, Madeira’s capital.

A Year of Multiple Awards

In addition to the World’s Leading Island Destination title, Madeira also won other honors in 2024. These included:

  • Europe’s Leading Island Destination for the 10th time, as well as

  • Europe’s Leading Beach Destination for Porto Santo.

  • The island was also named Emerging Golf Destination and received the Best Tourism Entity award for the Associação de Promoção da Madeira.
