A Night of Celebration in Funchal
Madeira has been named World’s Leading Island Destination for the 10th consecutive year at the 31st World Travel Awards. The announcement was made on November 24, 2024, during a gala held at the Savoy Palace Hotel in Funchal, Madeira’s capital.
A Year of Multiple Awards
In addition to the World’s Leading Island Destination title, Madeira also won other honors in 2024. These included:
Europe’s Leading Island Destination for the 10th time, as well as
Europe’s Leading Beach Destination for Porto Santo.
The island was also named Emerging Golf Destination and received the Best Tourism Entity award for the Associação de Promoção da Madeira.
