Portugal's weather service, IPMA, has put Madeira's south coast and mountain areas under a yellow warning for rain this Thursday, 5 November.
Forecasters expect showers that will at times be heavy. They may come with thunderstorms.
When the Warning Applies
In both areas, the warning runs from 09:00 to 15:00 UTC on Thursday.
It then starts again at midnight and runs until 15:00 on Friday, 6 November.
Worse Weather Expected at the Weekend
The weather is expected to get worse over the weekend.
In recent days, the authorities have issued several recommendations for the public to follow in bad weather.
