Ceremony Scheduled for July 30 with Regional Leaders
A new Continente Modelo supermarket will officially open in São Vicente, Madeira, on July 30 at 10:30h. The inauguration ceremony will be attended by key public and business figures, including Miguel Albuquerque, President of the Regional Government of Madeira, and José António Garcês, Mayor of São Vicente.
The store is located at the intersection of Estrada Dom João V and Estrada 25 de Agosto, See Google Maps.
17th Continente Modelo on Madeira
This new branch will be the 17th Continente Modelo supermarket in Madeira. The supermarket chain, part of the Sonae group, has had a presence on the island since 1996. Today, it employs over 1,200 people in the region.

Investment of €6 Million in Local Development
The construction of this new store represents an investment of around €6 million. Mayor José António Garcês emphasized the positive impact of the project, noting that it contributes to economic activity and creates new jobs in the northern part of the island.
“In addition to new employment opportunities, this project brings more convenience and choice to the people of São Vicente,” Garcês told local reporters. The investment is expected to benefit both residents and the surrounding rural area.
