Portugal's weather service, IPMA, has issued new yellow warnings for Madeira and Porto Santo. The agency expects weather conditions to worsen again between Tuesday, 10 November, and Wednesday, 11 November.
The new alerts follow a night of orange warnings. Madeira has now been downgraded to yellow for rain and wind, though forecasters say more bad weather is on the way.
Rain and Wind Alerts Take Effect at 21:00 Tuesday
The rain and wind warnings start at 21:00 on Tuesday. Rain may be strong and persistent at times.
Wind could bring gusts of up to 75 km/h. That threshold applies to the North and South coasts and to Porto Santo.
The wind warning ends at 10:00 on Wednesday. The rain warning runs longer, lasting until midday.
Gusts May Reach 95 Km/H in the Mountains
In Madeira's mountainous areas, IPMA expects wind gusts of up to 95 km/h. That is notably stronger than the 75 km/h forecast for the coasts.

South Coast Faces a Sea Warning With 4.5-Metre Waves
IPMA has also issued a yellow warning for sea conditions on the South coast. It runs from 07:00 to 13:00 on Wednesday, with waves from the West and Southwest reaching between 4 and 4.5 metres.
North Coast and Porto Santo Get a Sea Alert for Monday
A separate update adds sea warnings for Monday, 9 November. The North coast is expected to see waves from the West and Northwest of 4 to 4.5 metres.
Porto Santo faces waves of the same height from the Northwest.
All the new warnings are linked to the passage of depression Bruna. IPMA says it will keep bringing rain, strong wind and rough seas to the archipelago over the coming days.
Depression Bruna Has Already Caused at Least 111 Occurrences
Bruna had already caused at least 111 occurrences across the region, according to today's print edition of DIÁRIO, Madeira's daily newspaper.
Five people were left homeless, and the storm disrupted air and sea links as well as sports activities, according to the same report.
Civil Protection's Count Climbs to 145 Incidents
Separately, Madeira's Civil Protection service has counted 145 occurrences linked to the bad weather. Fallen trees and floods were the most common incidents.
Funchal recorded the most, with 66 occurrences. Santa Cruz followed with 31.
Flight disruption at Madeira Airport has also continued through the week. Cancellations climbed to 37 on Saturday alone, as storm Bruna intensified.
