The storm, caused by Depression Emília, led to roughly 200 flights being cancelled over two days. More than 40,000 passengers were impacted, with many forced to delay travel plans. Affected travelers reported being accommodated by hotels and meal provisions by some airlines.

Binter Flight to Porto Santo Cancelled Due to Crew Absence

At least 10 flights were cancelled today, including a Binter flight to Porto Santo scheduled for early morning. Airline staff explained that the cancellation was due to the crew not reporting for duty. Passengers were informed that rebooking could be difficult in the following days.

Flights Gradually Resumed After Winds Decreased Around 07:30

After winds slowed, flights began landing and taking off at Madeira Airport around 07:30 in the morning. Passengers expressed relief at finally returning home, although some still faced delays. One traveler noted, "It was not really a problem for us, we just had to cancel a dinner date." Airlines continue to monitor conditions to avoid further disruptions.
