Noite do Mercado in Santa Cruz Postponed to Next Friday

The Municipal Council of Santa Cruz postponed the Noite do Mercado following a morning meeting with the Municipal Civil Protection Service and other security forces. Officials cited unsafe conditions due to Storm Emília which continues to bring strong wind and rain.

The Noite do Mercado will now take place on Friday December 19. The 10th Tangerine Fair, organized by the Santa Cruz Parish Council, will be held on December 19 and 20. Both events had been planned for Saturday but were delayed for safety reasons.

The Market Night in Santa Cruz is celebrated on Christmas Eve, and as the name suggests, it takes place at the Municipal Market and Fish Market Square in Santa Cruz. The night is full of entertainment with lots of music and Christmas carols, food and drink stalls, and the traditional fruit and craft stands related to the season.
