Weekly Porto - Funchal Flights Rise From 14 to 18
TAP Air Portugal will increase connections between between Porto and Funchal, increasing the number of weekly flights on the route from 14 to 18 and thus about almost 30%. The change takes effect on March 29, according to a statement sent to the press.
The airline frames the decision as part of a wider effort to improve travel between mainland Portugal and Madeira.
Four Added Flights Operate Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays at Fixed Times
The additional Porto - Funchal services will run four days a week - Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights leave Porto’s Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport at 12:10 and arrive in Funchal at 14:15. The return service departs from Cristiano Ronaldo Airport at 15:05, landing back in Porto at 17:05.
In its note, the airline linked the schedule change to a broader public role.
“TAP thus reinforces its fundamental role in mobility between Porto and the Northern region and the autonomous regions of the Azores and Madeira, demonstrating once again its contribution to national cohesion.
